BumbleBee Breedings?

DDReptiles Jul 11, 2006 11:51 PM

I have a genetics question with regards to Bumblebees. On average what can one expect per clutch of 4 or 6 eggs from the breeding of a male bumblebee with a pastel female and with a normal female?

Thanks for your help.

Dwayne

I'm not 100% sure of the exact ratios so I won't comment on those, but I do know whats possible to make from those crosses:

Bumblebee X Pastel-
Super Pastel Spider (Killer Bee)
Bumblebees
Pastels
Spiders
Normals

Bumblebee x Normal-
Bumblebees
Spiders
Pastels
Normals

Anyone know the ratios? I didn't feel like doing the punnent square...

Found a genetics wizard:
http://www.geneticswizard.com/f_start_genetics_wizard.asp

12.5% WT (Normal)
12.5% Het. Spider (Spider)
25% Het. Pastel (Pastel)
25% Het. Pastel, Het. Spider (Bumblebee)
12.5% Homozygous Pastel (Super Pastel)
12.5% Homozygous Pastel, Het. Spider (Killer Bee)
