so, ive found my fair share of rattlesnakes, but i hardly ever find anything else. Ive gone a few times searching for rosy boas but have never found any. so i have a few questions for those people that have.
how late do you see them? on highways, dirtroads, or walking? are you up in themountains? foothills? flat land? to be honest it kinda sucks to spend all that gas money to find nothing but rattlers. haha.

Where were you lookin'? Never looked for Rosies in Az, but I visited www.reptilesofaz.com and they had Rosies home range in the snake section. In lees than a week we'll be in the southeast to do a little herpin' and I'm hopin' to see a king or a Sonoran Gopher. Good luck.

The field guides should give you a good description on habitat ect....

In AZ, I usually look for lots of rock piles and boulders...within their range of course(usually in small desert mountain ranges). While there are other times to find them, I only search in the spring time. Try night driving for them in early Spring in the lower desert (March-May). You can start a little later and end a little later at higher elevations but I normally stop looking in June.
