So, I'm on my way to work this morning and my girlfriend calls from the house in a panic. She'd just opened the magnetic cave in the enclosure of our female leopards and tah-dah, there was an egg nessled in the back crevice.
She spent a couple of minutes freaking out before she marked the egg, got it unstuck, set up the vermiculite and started the incubator.
She had a little trouble getting the egg to come free of the cave, but there was no breakage and the slight collapse righted itself in the process.
The egg is resting in it's cup, waiting for the incubator to stabilize and I thought I would make this post and see if all of this sounded copasetic.
This is our younger girl and it is her first season. She was gravid for a little over two weeks and she has been eating, shedding and drinking on a regular basis. She seems to be 100% healthy and still in great spirits. In fact, when the cave was opened, she came right out as if to show of what she'd made.
At lunch I'll go home and check on the egg, just to be sure everything looks good.
Please, if anyone has any advice or suggestions, don't hesitate to post!
Thanks,
Eric
