Everglades Rat x Speckled King

I puchased these from Rainer last year. I see he has some for sale and thought you might like to see my yearlings. They get brighter with every shed. No, Rainer did not put me up to this!

Those look very similar to the speckled king X albino yellow rat line. I know Rainer produced some F2s from the original F1s I produced a few years ago, but wasn't aware he was working with speckled king X everglades. Did the albino gene come from the speckled king or the everglades? Anyone have pictures of the parents?

Dwight

I sent you an email regarding these snakes. They are everglades.

Hey, did you ever breed your WS everglades into speckleds? Do you still have WS everglades? What else have you done this season? Any new hybrids?

>>I sent you an email regarding these snakes. They are everglades.

Email received. Not a surprise they look similar since glades and yellows aren't as different as say yellows and blacks or blacks and glades.

>>Hey, did you ever breed your WS everglades into speckleds? Do you still have WS everglades?

Nope, never crossed the WS glades into anything. I sold my adults a few years ago to a famous rock star.

I don't have much cooking this year since I didn't brumate or cool anything. Some snakes bred anyway and others laid eggs without breeding. Other than that, not much. I didn't attempt any new hybrids this season hopefully next year I'll have more time to contribute to the cause.

Any new hybrids your way?

Okay what gives? You know I can't just let this response go.

You said "...others laid eggs without breeding."
Are they fertile? Do you know if it's sperm retention or cloning?

The eggs that were laid without breeding were infertile.

Hi Phil,

Those turned out REALLY nice. That amel is real yellow and the normal has some bright yellow on him to. I will look and see which ones are females so I can pair you up with those you got from me last year.

Man I love these guys as adults. So calm and eat all the left over old stinky mice my other snakes refuse. Mine are pushing 5 feet right now.
