Neon Tree Dragon still not eating

Anole16 Jul 12, 2006 04:43 PM

Ok, I got him got him to eat a little bit of lettuce. The catch is that I had force it to him. I took him to the vet twice already and they dewormed him, gave him some antibiotics and calcium medicine and a vitamin B injection. But I still want him/her to EAT ON HIS/HER OWN! I just recently got the Reptisun 5.0 bulb, and have my NTD in a 40G br. lots of branches and a basking spot. Soaking bowl available to him. Is there something I can do to my NTD to eat on it's own? I keep trying crickets- (lots of calcium), I have tried superworms, and have also tried a nightcrawler. Thanks for the help.

You said..."Ok, I got him got him to eat a little bit of lettuce"...the sites that I read said that they are insectivores.

You didn't say what the temperature is in the basking area or the rest of the cage....but maybe you have it at the wrong temperature temperatures that are too hot or too cold will affect eating?

Here are some sites with information about them...can't tell you if the sites are good or not since I've never kept this species of tree dragon...

Sorry I can't be of more help. I hope you get it figured out! Tree dragons are fascinating creatures!
