lines on russian tortoise shell

There are all kinds of off white lines/circles running throught my russian tortoises shell is this part of the design or a deficiency?

It would help if you could post a photo (a photo that is in focus and reasonably well exposed that is).

Otherwise, if the white lines are between and around the scutes on the shell, then it is probably just new growth. And that's OK.

I noticed the same thing on my russian recently and was told by experts on another forum that these are stress marks in new growth keratin. They are completely normal and nothing to worry about and are seen in tortoises in the wild too.
