Lumpy Snake

chizu_sando Jul 12, 2006 08:09 PM

I have a 5 week old corn snake that has a small bulge in his tail. I know that the best advice is to seek a vet, but I am unable to afford a vet visit at this time. It is ventral and seems to be fluid filled, about 3/4 down his body. Is there any idea what it might be? Know any good herp vets in Corpus Christi, Tx?

I have a hogsnake with teh same thing. She was sitting in the moss a long time, so i was thinking a water blister on mine. Was yours in a wet situation, or soaking a long time?

Ontogeny Recapitulate Phylogeny was my tag for a while,, it was proven untrue, but I still have faith!

Well my snake likes to hang out in his water dish. He curls up with just his nose sticking out. I bought him from a good breeder so I don't think it is an injury from mishandling. He is an amel corn, I wonder if close breeding might cause a genetic defect?
