changing to rats

Black_Wolf Jul 13, 2006 08:53 AM

So i have a JCP that's about 1 1/2 months and it's been on mice since first meal i believe. All the pet shops here have mice and "small" rats. So i've been getting fuzzy mice as i looked for a place to order pinky rats. It's the only snake i have really that needds to be on rats(pinky) and couldn;t find a place that would give me a good deal on shipping. ($20 on pinkys and 30 on shipping isn't good on my budget) anyways... Finally found a place and i'm gonna be sending an order today and blah blah blah...
Since my Jungles so young, does anyone think it'll be hard to get her to switch over to pinky rats? It's my first carpet python...

ive found that carpets prefer mice until they are about a year old. basically they will only eat mice until they are able to eat a small adult rat. theres no real surefire method to get them to switch over. you just have to wait until they will take it.
