Lizard Troubles

Niquasi Jul 13, 2006 11:07 AM

I was wondering if anyone could help me...
I recently aquired 2 pink bellied swifts, 2 emerald dragons, and 2 baby iguanas from a pet wholesaler. The swifts and dragons were said to be eating gut loaded crickets, and the iguanas were eating greens and iguana food pellets. I keep their enclosures in the upper 80's F on one side and 70's F on the other side, they are provided with fresh food and water daily, and are provided with UV light. One of my swifts acted lethargic and died the next day. Now it is one month later, no one is eating, and my emerald dragon was lethargic yesterday. He was dead this morning. I don't know what I am doing wrong, and I can't seem to find much info on the emerald dragons especially. If there is ANYONE that can give any advice on ANY of these reptiles, I would be very appreciative!!!!
Thanks,
Niki

Sorry for your losses. Its frustrating when this happens and you can't figure out why.

You might not be doing anything wrong. They might have parasites or some other illness. I would recommend that you take them to a vet for a checkup.

I would also suggest that you get a necropsy (autopsy) done if another one dies. you might have found out what's wrong.

Thank you for your reply. I lost my female emerald dragon and the female iguana yesterday, and they have been buried....

The others seem to be doing well, but I will have them checked for parasites or something if they begin to fail. I appreciate it.

sincerely,
Niki
