THERMOSTAT QUESTION???????

I HAVE A HERPSTAT THERMOSTAT AND IT IS SET AT 85 WITH THE PROBE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TANK THE BASKING TEMPS FLUCTUATE WITH THE TEMPS SHOULD I NOT BE USING IT TO KEEP HIGHER BASKING TEMPS.

From what all the experts tell me on this forum (and i am no expert in any way shape or form) The highest basking point should be 130 degrees ferenheight with an ambient temp no less then 82 (82-85) Talk to FR or Holly for specifics.
