can i set them loose?

thefroglady08 Jul 13, 2006 01:37 PM

I've had this eastern spadefoot toad for about a month now, and a green frog for closer to 2. I've decided I don't want to take care of them because it's too much trouble. I got them from a friend, who got them out of her yard, and I don't know what to do with them. I can't set them loose, can I? Would they die? What else can i do?

Yeah if they're local you probably can. However, some areas have laws about not setting free animals kept as pets even if they're native and wild-caught because of the possibility that they may introduce some pathogen to the wild populations.

Look into it and make sure they're both healthy.

Owen.
