Harry is an interesting snake -
I lost one job in October 1999 and didn't find another job until March 2000 (which paid more than twice as much ...)
I was taking the bus home from work in April, missed the bus that got me close to home - so took another one and walked. Harry was about to enter Lone Tree - a very busy street. The field he was coming from was being bulldozed for new houses, and the field across the street - bulldozing had not begun, but the contractor signs were up. So even though I didn't have a cage, I now had money again - so I took him home and bought the cage the next day (Saturday).
Until very recently, he was a poor eater. He was a great eater if feeding him fuzzies, but he was a poor eater for large mice. He'd eat one, and not eat another adult for several weeks.
Suddenly he has become a very good eater.
After the mouse pictured above, I offered him a second and he did something he has never done for me before - he took the mouse right out of my hand (I held it by the tail). That's how I use to feed all my old snakes, but until now, Harry never ate until I stepped back and certainly never from my hand.
Anyway - since several WC cal kings have pictured recently, I decided a pic of harry would be enjoyed.
He was collected in Antioch, CA (East Contra Costa County)
