grayband hybrid & elongated eggs

ezeedad Jul 13, 2006 10:59 PM

This snake laid 4 elongated eggs. It looks like 5 or maybe even 6 in the photo, but actually it is just 4. I don't know if snakes lay double yolked eggs, but maybe that is what's happening here.

The eggs have good shells. They even look like they may have been retained longer than usual and have bits of excess calcium making the outside somewhat rough.

If those eggs haven't gone bad by now you may get lucky. I had a bullsnake x cornsnake hybrid. I mated her to a cornsnake and she laid small clutches of huge eggs. Most clutches went bad but I got 3 babies from one clutch and 1 baby from another. I have one of the females from that mating. She produces large but not huge eggs. I mated one of the male offspring to a female bullsnake and got three babies, one of them female. I mated her to her father this spring and got 4 huge eggs, 1 of which may still be good.
