Help my baby survive the weekend please!

burunx Aug 02, 2003 01:46 PM

Hi,

I have a similiar prob as a post below (Jesus) and it seems as though my baby RES, Squirt< may have an eye infection as he has two puffy eys, wipes them a lot, is not basking and is not his normal happy self. I can't get an appt with the vet 'til Mon. Any suggestions to help us out over the weekend? Is it better for him to be in the water where he now prefers or should I take him and keep him warm and dry? The current water temp is about 84 degrees and I am warming it up.

Thank you!!!

Rebecca and Squirt (you can see his pix in the RES photo gallery)

try www.arav.org
to find a vet who is good with reptiles in your area.

Why are you warming up the water? 84 degrees is plenty warm enough. Did you just do a water change? Chlorine can affect turtles eyes, or he may have an infection. Either way, take him to a vet.
