HELP -> extended hibernation

dhayes Jul 14, 2006 03:30 AM

Hello,

I've had my frog for a number of years now, and she has been hibernating now for almost 9 months. She surfaced about 3 weeks ago now, and then went back into the dirt without shedding.

The temperature is always monitored and I keep it consistently moist.

What to do? Should I dig her up and put her in water? Leave her alone?

Wow, 9 months is a lot! There is something definitly wrong. R u sure u have the right temps. and humi. levels? I have never delt with extensive hibernation, so I would wait till someone posts with experiance in this topic, or better yet I would take my frog to the vet, maybe he/she can help.

I agree with joossa check the conditions in your pacman's tank. Estivation usually only occurs when the pacman frogs environment are far from optimal.
