Mostly WHITE HEADED cal king..........

Kerby... Aug 02, 2003 01:58 PM

Okay, I couldn't wait until she shed. Although we can play with the pattern on cal kings, the head mask rarely changes. This one popped out the other day from my High Whites that produced the original Albino High White in 2000. It happens to be a girl (was hoping it would be a boy). It will be interesting to see how she turns out as she gets older.

The Mendota x Albino High White is the cal king with a light chocolate look to it. The other two are from High White to High White. I used those 2 to show how the white is browner on the Mendota influence. Also I wanted to compare the "white-headed" to other cal kings with the traditional black mask.

Thanks,

Looks like you hit that King with a little white spray paint LOL. I really like the white speckling in the black crossbars. I dont think Ive ever seen anything quite like that. Very nice should be a interesting and beautiful project for you.

What's going to be interesting is that normally with cal kings is that as they get older the white can bleed out into the black/brown. So I am expecting the white speckling and the white head to spread if any. Cals don't change like corns, but we will see. I also have a nice 50-50 male that hatched in '02 that I might breed her to in '05. Obviously it would have been nice to hatch 2 out like that...LOL

It won't be one-of-a-kind and then I can sell a few. Gonna be posting pics of some other cool cal kings from this year!
