Interesting Uro Treat Recipe

thekidgecko Jul 14, 2006 04:59 PM

Ok so I tried this the other day and my Mali LOVED it. If you have some kind of juicer that you can juice things whole in and it collects the pulp (IE Jack Lalaine) you can juice any kind of fruit or vegatable and while making a nutrious and delicious juice for yourself, it makes a nice semi-moist paste and if you add a nice sweet fruit such as strawberry or a very small amount of grape they really seem to love it. It might be very usefull as a baby uro food being so moist. Only use it as a snack for adults though! (If you use mostly fruit it makes for a very good Rhacodactylus super food too!)

Just remember that Uros don't process sugars like we do and keep the fruits to a minimum....more of a "once in awhile treat" than a staple in their diets.

Exactly, I rarely use it more than once every two months or so, since I don't make it very often. Very nice treat though
