is dead too. She died in my hands today a little bit before her appointment with the vet. So I took her to him and he autopsied her. She had 2 encapsulated abdominal abscesses the size of eggs. He feels she has been working on this for quite some time and that it was totally unrelated to the death of Saige. I think Fawn died from a respiratory infection -- she was so thin I think I would have seen something that big. I was assured that this has all just been a nasty coincidence and that I am not doing anything wrong, but it sure feels terrible, anyway.
Otis is just fine, eats like a pig and had a nice shed today. My awesome vet is going to try and catch me a female sometime when he is out taking photos of them. We are going to wait until Otis has had a while to show me that he is really ok, though. At least I live somewhere that obtaining an new one (or 2?) is a possibility. I'd still like to have another baby sometime, but Saige's eggs are not going to make it. It seems pretty tough right now to find any captive bred collareds. Thanks everyone, I'll be back after a little break.

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

God bless the USA

I feel so badly, wish we could have prevented it someway!
