Wow...I have a new appreciation

for the speed of chuckwallas! It must be the fact they live so close to their rocky crevices that one seldom comments on the lightning speed these lizards possess! My daughter was feeding the chucks outside in the Reptarium today when my female dvl mutt came up over the side and rested in the grass. I took a couple steps towards her, and she bolted like lightning! I was running nearly as fast as I could and was barely keeping up. Of course I was trying to stay a step behind still as to not accidentally step on her.

She ran a good 50 feet, then turned and ran the other direction. I was able to get her back in my grip. It was very warm today and had a tremendous impact on her speed and my sweating. I wish I had this on video to share. I will now give the chuckwallas the same respect I have outdoors for my collareds! Lesson learned today!

PS...nice redback Eve!

But I'm NICE to my lizards, so none have ever run from ME, hehehehhee LMAO

Stop pinching them Johneee They are like dogs they never forget, hahahhaaaa ! (Glad ya got her)

(Thank you, yeah the Grebster has turned into quite a fine fellow.)

That was some fun exercise as well...I have to get used to this Reptarium. I'm just not careful enough. Chili was up on the hind legs, and gave me a good run around. Finally got him back in the cage. Man...it's been in the mid 90's several days lately with no letup in sight!

Thought I was talking about you hunh , NO WAY, the weather Johneee, the weather, LOL

Yeah we are having a heat wave, also. As far as the reptariums, yep, they run right up top where you unzip the dang things and dart out.

I have my emerald swifts in a 65 gallon, and sometimes one will come up to eat from my hand and take off, LOL kinda funny (when inside) I would not open it outside.
I used to fill a large rep with collareds and let them sun, but noticed big HAWKS sitting on the edge of my neighbors roof, WATCHING, my beautiful lizards That was the end of sunning in the reptarium, those big hawks could shread that reptarium in a second. Shame as they liked sunning in it.
