Some more interesting Nics

BigDan Jul 16, 2006 12:21 AM

These are some Nics that originally came through Seigal about 4 years ago. I received 1.3 from a person that had purchased them from Ben along with some type 2 anerys.

They are literally fire engine red that extends from their belly up the side to their backs.

I raised them up and bred them this year.

I had the red male in with a normal Nic female that I also raised from a baby and also with the red female. The male bred both numerous times.

You can see in the pic where the red male is breeding the normal female and the red female lting in the far corner.

I produced to small litters one from the red male to the red female and one from the red male to normal female.

Here are the results

Red male to normal female I got hypos but they do not look like dad. Obviously the red ones carry the hypo gene.

Here is what I produced from the other litter red male to red female

There were only two live babies but they are carbon copies of mom and dad. Hypo Nic with another recessive gene in the mix any thoughts.
