I bought an azuerus From a reptile show yesterday. It was a very hot day.
I took the frogs out to the car and left for home right away. But When i looked at my frog about half way home I find him to be dead. I know the car was the right temps he was in a humidified container with wet moss ground cover. I take him out at home and hes not moving i looked carefully to see little breaths so i misted and dropped water on him. Today he has recovered slightly and will move if i touch him. BUT HERES THE PROBLEM his back legs seem to not move, maybe are paralyzed. Does anyone have suggestions or what i should expect? I do belive he will die without back use of legs.

Thank you for any help possible.
ps the other frog i bought was alittle bigger and did not suffer any damage and is fine is his cage now.

The first thing you should do is contact the vendor and explain the situation. Was the frog obviously active when you purchased him? If the temperatures were right in your car when you transported him home, and there were no inadvertent injuries on the way, an honest vendor will probably replace the frog. It's probably due to something that happened while being transported by the vendor to the show that perhaps he didn't notice.

As you describe the frog, it doesn't look good, although you can certainly continue to try to save him. With the back legs not working, it may have been an injury along the way, or he may have been stressed some other way along the vendor's route of packing and transporting him. It's hard to tell. But do notify the vendor without delay. He or she will appreciate it, and may be able to give you suggestions an advice as well.

Most breeders and sellers will guarantee live delivery, and after that, you are pretty much on your own, since they are unable to guarantee against unknown after-care. They will make exceptions however, and this case looks like an exception, especially since the larger frog is doing fine.
