Patternless Albino Question

thegeckolady Aug 02, 2003 05:36 PM

How do I tell the difference between a patternless hatchling or a patternless albino hatchling? My het for patternless albino egg just hatched, and I can't tell the difference. Is it just lighter colored eye's?

lighter eyes, the spots will be kinda pinkish not a darker brownish, and the tail will be pinkish, not the greyish/purplish. over all the gecko kinda appears translucent.

This is a picture of "Peanut" my newborn patternless albino. He was born yesterday afternoon. He came from a tangerine het patternless I got from Kelli Hammock about two months ago. She had two more eggs inside her, shortly after she arrived at my house. So I got an extra bonus from my purchase.

If you can, please give me an honest evaluation of the quality of this baby. You don't have to be concerned about hurting my feelings. I have never had a patternless albino, and don't know how to evaluate them.

Thanks!

you said it came from a het patternless mother? Was she het for albino too? If not then that could not be a PA. Both parents have to carry both genes

She's a very poor example of a patternless albino, so poor that I feel sorry for you and would like to offer her a free home with me to relieve you of having to care for such an unattractive animal.

Honestly I have yet to hatch a PA and wondered if she really was albino as her eyelids look too dark to be albino- are the eyes red or pink (if not she is not albino)? Does she have rainwater or tremper or bell genes? I work exclusively w/ tremper, and the eyelids are not anywhere so dark in my babes.

Whether she is PA or just patternless, she has a nice orangish color, looks promising, post updates as she grows (unless you take me up on my offer of a free home, then I'LL post update pics
