Love bites

CollardGuy Aug 02, 2003 05:36 PM

and occasionally tries to kill. You should see Jane bite my finger. (Good thing I am wearing a glove untill she stops biting) She just holds on no matter what, hanging in midair off my finger, occasionly stopping, then Crunch! Just like a bulldog. I'll get a pic of it sometime. (I just have a regular camera and developing is kind of expensive.

We just took in two young Savannah monitors as *rescues* last night. (Shades of Eve LOL) Had to give one some liquid calcium supplement with a plastic dropper.....LOL. THEY never let go either, and our dropper now has holes in it!

I always wanted one of those. (not always, its hard to tell what you wan't when your 2) I got interested in lizards and snakes when I was twelve. I caught a six lined racerunner and a couple fence lizards, been into them ever since. (Of course, racerunners are getting old, as they live 10 feet from our house.) I saw three healthy looking Savannah monitors this summer at the 'better' pet shop. (the other one has limp black lizards that are supposed to be green.) The monitors were about 1.5" long and $25. I figured it was a good deal but I have no room nor the resourses to keep a four foot long lizard. They are pretty cool lizards though. (has anybody heard about those Nile Monitors loose in Florida?)

They should have some kind of recovery team or something capture them and sell them cheap as Wild Caught, it would solve Floridas problem, and it would be better than capturing them in their own habitat.
