Hoping for eggs from these two...

EmberBall Jul 17, 2006 09:15 PM

The orange snake is the female(Tangerine), the other is the male(Concrete). Yes, those are made up names so I could easily identify the snakes. I could have put NormalF1, but that is so generic. She just shed, hoping it was her prelay shed. She is a pretty nice looking female, hoping one or both are genetic....actually just hoping for some eggs.

Here are more recent pics of the female, that was her as a baby in the first post.

There are 3 snakes pictured. That being the obvious How big are they all? pre lay shed? The Tangerine? From those pics/perspectives they look like hatchlings LOL.

The "Tangerine", or orange one has a baby pic and two adult pics. The Concrete, or Desert Ghost looking one is the male, picture twice, once with a normal female I no longer own. The male is about 1200 grams, just ate a large rat last night, so probably more now The female is over 1800 grams now, was probably 1500 plus in the two adult pics.

Really a beautiful unique animal. Lots of possibilities to make some very nice animals with that male.

Kyle, glad you like him. He actually had a nice 60's Corvette or Mustang yellow color to him as a baby, that pale yellow color, for some highlights. Hard to tell in the pics. The bad, or maybe very good thing is, I know nothing about his history, I mean nothing. So, who knows what could pop out....that is what makes this so fun. This is a pic I forgot I had of him, very blurry, but you can kind of see some of the yellow I was talking about.

Dave,

A Royal Python that gets lighter instead of darker as it ages is really impressive. I have a female that is much lighter now than when she was a hatchling "BHB Clown Het", she does not come close to the look of your animal which is completely different yet she really stands out as a beautiful "normal". Your animal is "different" and hopefully you can produce more with that same lighter high contrast appearance. Keep us up to date with that project. That is a beautiful animal.

I agree and like the lighter animals vs. the darker ones. That is one reason why I like the Mojave cross so much, they actually improve with age, and drastically. Also why I prefer the Ghost crosses, they lighten up everything, and add color. I like the Ghost and Pastels big time, as far as crosses. I think now that the price has come down on Fires, that some nice crosses will be made from them too.

I agree! The Ghost are a favorite of mine for those very reasons and Caramels also look better as they get older. Good luck with that animal and thanks for the information about your project which is very worth while. Keep us up to date.
