These are a pair of Isla Marajo Rainbow Boas, Epicrates cenchria barbouri. This subspecies is from Isla Marajo and the surrounding area at the mouth of the Amazon River. The PICs do not adequately show it but these snakes are more burgundy colored and less bright red than they look in these PICs. The male is the smaller snake in the first PIC and the female is in the second PIC. All of these snakes that I have heard about and have seen PICs of are dark burgundy colored except for one specimen which was much oranger like a typical Brazilian Rainbow.
