Technique to breed one male to multiple females?

jmartin104 Aug 02, 2003 06:02 PM

For the past two years I have bred my male to 5 females. Both years, I used a 3 day cycle - 3 days with each female. At the end of the 3 days, he got a couple of days off. Well, in two years and 5 females, I only got one clutch. This coming breeding season, I'm thinking about putting him in the same container with 3 females and leaving them together throughout the breeding season.

What approach has worked best for some of you?

one big cage and 6 snakes in it all winter........

need other cages to feed in.....take them out and feed them (all at once or a few at a time......even one at a time out......feed one a day........each day.........

let them together from Thanksgiving till March........

have fun..........

Doubtful. The smallest was 1900 grams all the way up to 3000 grams.

...yep that aint the problem! Perhaps a little better cooling, or start a month earlier. With 2 years experience your male will probably do better this next season. Good Luck! SJM
