Hello everyone.I am new to tegus.I have been keeping snakes for a while now.Some good friends of mine own a pet store and some one brougt in a tegu.They said they did not want it anymore althought it was still a baby.From what i now now it was a columbian.I liked it alot i played with it every time i was in there,But before i could buy it it was stolen.I decited to wait until the reptile show last weekend i worked it with my friends.So what do ya know the guy behind us has some argentine B & W 's they still had green on them.he had them marked 85 but i helped him out some so i got it for 45.He eats well and drinks but he filps out when he see's people.I can pick him up but he wiggles and wants to get away.So my question how do i get him to calm down.I have all the time in the world. thank you

Its sad to hear that someone could steal a Baby Tegu...

All you really need is time, I hold mine everyday for about 30-60 mins, I don't grab him I just let him sit in my hand and he seems to like that, he doesn't sit still unless he's sleepy and I have to 'walk' him hand over hand most of the time.
