Do hatchlings care...

wombat Jul 18, 2006 12:06 PM

Do hatchlings care if you take them right out of the incubator into room temps?

They've been at exactly 85 degrees or whatever for 60 days, should they be gradually cooled towards room temps, or is it good enough that their new homes have a thermo-gradient so they can self-regulate?

Thanks-

I can't answer for the hatchlings ... but,I have never thought too much about temps after incubation. I guess because its usually July/August when eggs are hatching and my snake room temp is warm anyway.. I don't think it's too much of a concern unless your going from incubation to a drasticlly different temp..

just my opinion..

mine have never complained! lol. just joking.
I agree with the other post. I put my hatchlings in a room that is fairly warm, so I do not think it is much of a deal for them. I also think they are more concerned with the giant hand that is picking them up and whether or not they are going to be eaten! Imagine that being your first experience in life! I think my first concern would be to get away too! lol
