Baby Snake For science?

medyssa Jul 18, 2006 02:59 PM

Unfortunately, my snake that was born without eyes died today. I didnt know if anyone here would like to have it for science. I posted it on Craigslist, but I think I might take the post down. I would be happy to ship it to someone, it is in the freezer now, so I could proabably have it shipped frozen and with a cold pack. If you are in the bay area and would like to pick it up or meet me somewhere, I would be happy to do that as well. Otherwise im just going to bury the baby in the yard, I dont want to throw it in the trash because its just so sad to have only lived one month to the day.

It must have had more wrong than just the eye defect. I have a 2005 male that didn't eat for the first few months of it's life. It's doing fine now and eating like a champ.

If you really want to donate it, check with local middle and high schools. My kids middle school has already asked me for any of my stillborns. Just put it in a jar with rubbing alcohol.

Use 70% ethyl alcohol instead of isopropyl alcohol...
It seems to keep the colors better and it is what all the scientific collections use...(after they preserve it with formaldhyde)

And yes my spelling is poor....
