Mite treatment...update..questions...

boafanatic7 Jul 18, 2006 06:48 PM

So I went out and purchased a solution that has perethrin, a mix made by a local pet store, that is safe to use both on the animals and in the enclosure. I sprayed the animals down and their enclosure, took the water bowl out and put newspaper. The store owner told me to repeate the process for 3 consecutive days, and then repeat as necessary a week later if the problem persists.

Many of the boas do not have any mites, nor do their enclosures. These are the boas on the other end of the room...should i still treat them?? I sprayed around the cages to create a barrier, but no sign of mites on any of them.

I did order some proventamite....is it ok to spray this on the floors of the room and the adjacent room?? It is all carpeted, and I have a dog and a cat...????

Thanks for your advice.
J.C.
