New cages, same old chameleons

dianedfisher Jul 18, 2006 07:16 PM

I purchased new cages and set them up last month. Just got around to posting them. Chyam is nearing a year old now and doing fine. As you can see, Valentino is still struggling with developing new skin, but he is making progress. The "scabby" areas are now very thin and there is visibly green skin underneath the brown. Sorry, the photo didn't come out very well. Hope everyone is having a nice summer. I can't believe it's almost half over already. BTW, I'm sure I'm not alone, but I would love to purchase an Ankaramy male. When I first joined the forum wasn't that Adam's specialty? Anyone know if he is still breeding them and if he is in the U.S.? Thanks! Diane

hey Diane,

glad Val is doing OK. Long process, huh? I guess burns, no matter what animal they are on, people included, take the longest to heal.

I am pretty sure Adam is in U.S. and I think he has a site, just not sure what it is. Do search for an old post of his and contact him through his username link

Thanks for the info on finding Adam. I found an old post in the "cages" forum and sent him a post.

Actually, after doing much research (and failing miserably on my first 2 set-ups) these cages are relatively inexpensive. Reptile Haven online sells them for $69.00 each plus shipping. I really don't have space for a gigantic cage, but the guys seem to have plenty of room to move around. The ipoema is growing in the hanging baskets and should fill out quickly. I like to have some plastic leaves in each cage because I think it makes the water from the automatic mister more visible and accesible. Did you ever talk your mom into a new chameleon? C'mon mom-you've got a GREAT kid and it'll keep him out of trouble! Diane
