Your Thoughts & comments on this girl...

ajfreptiles Jul 18, 2006 11:03 PM

Hey All, I took some pics of 3 of my girls...I did not want to post tons of pics in one post so I will ask them each seperatly...

I am planning on breeding these girls but I have not picked out a male yet...

I am thinking to buy a male yellow belly...because one of my girls seems to fit the description fairly well...but who knows....I just hope she is...

This first girl has the so called pied markers...but lately she is just bursting out with yellows...but more so like an outline in yellow very contrast...

What do you think about her....?

Thanks for your thoughts!!! Andy Federico

So now as you know I know nothing about balls...lol..!!!!!! I thank you all for your comments....Now another question...This is really why I posted....

Since these are all nice normals...What male should I buy???

I was thinking a male yellow belly or just a very yellow pastel...BUT what does everyone think would be the best for my limited money flow...lol...Thanks again, Andy Federico

The question is, how limited are your funds. You can pick up a male pastel and male yellow-belly for around $800. Granted the pastel won't be the best but when put with that super gold female the babies will be stunners. Also are your plans to just produce a few pastels and yb's to keep as pets or to build up a collection for selling? For a few pretty pet ball pythons I'd go with the pastel. If you want to build up a collection than I'd go with the YB first as you could hold back almost all the females you produce and make some ivories that have a much higher trade value and market appeal than pastel's and super pastel's which will help you more in the long run. Now what I'd do if I were you is to save your money till next year and buy a vanilla from me, lol j/k. But in all seriousness, both pastel's and YB's have a very good future in the reptiles biz, pastel's for what they are and YB's for what they can do. Hope this helps some and if not I'm sorry for rambling, lol. Here's a pic of my 05 pastel male, he's a stunner for sure.

Hey Josh, Thanks for your post! Is it me or did something change on this ball python forum? It used to be I would look over here and see many people getting slammed hard for posting pics of their recently aquired ball python and asking if it could be something unique....there were alot of people who just had negative attitudes and bashed everyone here.... Now it seems alot friendlier here! I actually have found myself wanting to check out new posts...and I see others posting their balls and it made me want to post mine! I am glad things are taking a turn for the good...I hope it stays that way...and Josh... I enjoy reading your posts! Thanks for your contribution to this forum! Andy Federico

well thank you very much for the kind words. I along with most other people here try to help others as much as possible. I think the attitude that is presented in response to the "Look at my new morph" posts is unintentional. Anyone that has been in this biz/hobby for a few years or more knows that time and patience is what is needed to verify if an abnormal ball is a morph or not. But with today's mentallity in the BP world everyone wants an ego trip by naming something. Personally I feel if a person imports an animal that is different than a normal, put the time in and prove it out before naming it or if they create a morph using a different line than an already established line, they should just add their name to their line like is done with the pastel's, it will add stability to the market of that animal and to the overall impression of the market to new individuals wanting to invest. But hey who am I to make a rational statement like that, I'm a nobody. But I will produce some killer animals in the next few years, some that nobody else has and some that are established crosses and morphs.

Personally, I'd love to see the babies produced by this one with a NERD Lemon Pastel.

I was just scanning this thread and looked at my previous post. I decided it was unclear and might give the wrong impression. What I was ATTEMPTING to say is that I would love to see the results of breeding YOUR girl to a lemon pastel, and stuck a pic of my lemon male in just for the heck of it. Sorry if my post implied otherwise.
