Who is having luck breeding this year?

jdmartin26 Jul 19, 2006 11:31 AM

Anyone going to have or know of anyone available Dums this year? Can someone recommend a breeder? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Yes, me. I'm expecting a nice litter from my best pair in a couple of weeks.

Well, it seems like I always have Dumerils, lol, but if I had to recommend someone outside myself.......I would definitely recommend Tim Frazier. Excellent guy, excellent animals, and he's had a couple litters recently which he has advertised in the "Other Boas" Classifieds. I don't know Bill, but I'd say check with him as well. Here's why-Dumerils at this point are not "expensive" snakes. They're reasonably priced, and there's no reason to buy from a broker/dealer over the breeders themselves. Go with the breeder as they're going to be able to give you the info you need if a problem comes up. I'm not slammin dealers, but what benefit do they offer vs. the breeder when your only talking about 100-150 dollars? So, I'd check out all the breeders you can, be picky, and drop the coin when the animal grabs your attention immediately. There is no reason to "settle" at the going rate. Have fun shopping, and remember that your the guy putting up the money...if something seems wrong, move on! Take care

Of the snakes/reptiles I keep, the best ones all came directly from a breeder. If I don't find what I'm looking for in Daytona next month I'll be lurking here for news on new litters and emailing some of the usual suspects. Thanks for the advice.
