Texas hatchling update

Mike Meade Jul 19, 2006 08:14 PM

I am happy to report that I ended up with 9 baby erebennus! All look great. I haven't found any data on typical hatchling weights, but these weighed from 38 to 48 grams several post hatch (some had shed by this time).

They have all shed and been offered unscented f/t large pinks. All but 2 have eaten and 2 have eaten twice. They will be 2 weeks old this weekend, so they are starting off fast.

How is everyone else doing with their hatches?

Sounds as though they are coming along fine for you Mike. The weights you indicated sound on target too, as most of my D. m erebennus hatchlings have weighed weigh 34g - 51g, with 40g being the average.

Keep up the good work and updates,

Jeff

Congratulations again on such fine results. This year? All of my Texas eggs were infertile. But wait until ...

Photo is bifurcated Texas hatchling from two years ago, dead in the egg.

I'm sorry yours didn't produce this year. I'd like to get some of your offspring to add new blood to mine.

And if you have to have one dead in the egg at least you got a cool picture out of it (them?).

Thanks again, and better luck next year.
