I have one that's almost one year old now and probably about 13"-14." She was pretty bitey right out of the box she was shipped in. That was when she was about a month old. Don't believe the hype about their tameness. She is a neat caiman though. I have found her to be easier to feed than the smaller species and pure bred specs. She makes a lot of noise. I can hear her calling at night from several rooms away. Also remember that two large species bred together will make large caimans, so don't be surprised if yours gets bigger than someone tells you.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any more pics? I would really appreciate it. Is she still bitey or did that go away with age? Also, is she still loud? Thanks again.
She is bolder now. I rarely handle her but when I do she doesn't really try to bite but she thrashes around. She knows where food comes from, even if its served on a plate so that doesn't last long. Most nights she is waiting for it as soon as the lights in her tank go off. That is another thing. She is more nocturnal than any alligator or spec I have ever owned. She is more like a dwarf in that respect. She still makes some noises when she is hungry and excited. It's not really bad. I actually think its kind of cool. Those are the best pics I have of her though.
A word of advice, if you are looking for a tame croc you will most likely be disapointed. There are occassional alligators that are pretty well-tempered, but they are an exception to the rule. A lot of times crocs at shows appear calmer than they are because they have been cooled to the point where they have little energy to spend struggling against you. Specs and Yacares are not known for their sunny dispositions anyway. Quite the opposite actually, they tend to be very aggressive. Besides I have also found that most baby crocs are considerably more "tame" than they are as adults. Don't buy any baby croc based on how it acts.
