Red phase hognose, belly/throat pics

kestrel Jul 20, 2006 02:20 PM

A while ago I posted pics of my "red phase" male..

snapped some pics of his belly and throat yesterday.. Someone here wanted to see em.. They didn't turn out too well, but whatever works.. heh

This was an old head comparison between the 3 I used to have.. normal, "red", and "dusty/yellow".

"red" and "yellow"

And the new belly pics. I always liked his solid black belly. I have no clue what color its supposed to be for a "red phase", only ever seen normal checkered hog bellies.

And a cute headshot

My Red phase snake has significantly faded back to a normal dark brown since it has been getting bigger. But, its not even a year old yet. Do they go through phases? Can mine get "redder" again?

Anyways, NICE snake!

Yes they can. That's the main reason Red Hogs are a tough sell, because they can go from normal to red, to orange, back to red or go brown. There's no way to tell what they'll do!! The pic is a good example of a Red, a Green and a Yellow together.
