I live in a big city and have never seen a reptile outside of a zoo or store. Never even considered touching one or getting one as a pet. I was nine.
One day I'm watching the lizards through the glass thinking it was cool that someone was actually reaching into the cage and grabbing them for a customer. That customer was my dad

Long story short, I was nine, my dad knew dick about them, but they did alright for a while with a small bulb and a hot rock. This lasted enough to get me pysched about herps and now that I know what I'm doing, I've seen them imported and back in the petstores. Again I find myself fascinated through the glass and setting up the desert terrarium in the back of my head. Someday soon...
