my son can't decide on a name for her so i call her lizzy which he hates and thinks its not original, he already wants a male so he can breed them, his twin sister wants one too, and i want a bearded dragon in the future. We picked her because she was the brightest, the others looked browner and had yellow throats. these all turned out to be males, the pet store hasn't had them since.

as that collared certainly appears to be a male. Judging by its expression in the pic, perhaps your lizard doesn't appreciate the name "lizzy" either! LOL... :0)

I agree with Brock, your son should not name a male Lizzy ! Think ya need a female, got your male, LOL Eve

in the pet store he looked lighter than the rest and the others had a yellow throat, they said the others were males so we thought we got the female. she looks lighter green than in the pic. we got him to jump and even wag his tail, but we're still working on " roll over and stay " - jim

...its more frequent that the males are more highly colored, but depending on the lizard's origin, it can be deceptive. This is a picture of a young adult male showing very little coloring:

Of course I had an F1 male cought in Oklahoma. You should see them in the Witchitas. You cant see females if your looking them in the eye, and you can see the males a mile away. It awesome. (Unless your trying to get pics of a female.)
