Honeysuckle plant

Does anyone know if the berries from the honeysuckle bush (Lonicera morrowii ) are a problem with tortoises? I built an outside pen this Spring and now one side of it is getting berries falling off the plants. Link is to an image of the plant. Tom

I found info here:
http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/plantfoods.html
But the species of honeysuckle they list differs from the one you mention.
I remember reading somewhere else that honeysuckle is ok for tortoises.. I just don't know what species I read about. More than likely if one isn't poisonous another isn't either.

You might check some other plant lists online to find out though.
My honeysuckle died the year before we got our tortoise so I was dissapointed when I found out she maybe could've eaten it.

On the africantortoise.com list of edible landscaping it lists both the leaves & fruit as edible for sulcata and leopard torts. I'm not sure if this includes the specific type growing in your yard and I don't know if it applies to all tortoises.

Check it out:
