Traveling with boas???

I'm going to the Daytona show in a couple of weeks and will hopefully be purchasing a couple of new additions. It will be about a 9 hour drive home so what do I need to do to keep the snakes at the proper temp. during the ride? Should I purchase some heat packs for the trip home? Also can someone with a 632 or 432 Vision cage measure the height and let me know if they measure exactly 18" tall. I'm hoping I can purchase these at the show to save on shipping cost and fit both these cages in the back of a Chevy suburban. Will be a tight fit but will work if they are no taller than 18".
Thanks, Don

first where would you be coming from location wise ?Second is thew burban a full size ? meaning long back or short back ? thirdly if its a long back and you drop your second seats down you can fit a VW in it as i have a 92 long and i regulary carry 8 ft sheets of plywood and the cages your are looking 432&632 ( i think i gottem right are only 18" tall and 36" deep and longest is only 6' so i would say shouldnt be a problem. Now far as traveling id say unless your running the AC wide open or your going to alaska lol shouldnt be a problem far as not enuff heat. hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be traveling back to NC but my concern is the temps. in the suburban with the air running will be about 70 to 75 degree for the 9 hour trip. Will this be to low for this amount of time? Should I add some heat for the snakes? On the suburban the length on the cages will be fine but I'm concerned with the height. The height in the suburban is 36 1/2" and the ad show the Vision cages at 18" so 2 cages stacked should be 36" but I wanted to know if this measurment is exact or if they just round to the nearest inch since I don't have much height to spare. If the outside height measurement of the cages is say 18 3/8" then I'm in trouble if I purchase 2 cages.
Thanks, Don

I have traveled from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Seattle, Washington with my snakes and they did just fine. It was a three day trip. The cages that I had them in were not all that big but then again, neither are they. You can get smaller but secure travel (plastic) cages in almost any pet store for just a few bucks.

I keep them warm by being creative. I have an Amazon Tree Boa and a Ball Python. Since my Ball is bigger I put him in a cage that he could stretch out in. To keep it from mooving I put it on the floor of the front passenger side and moved the seat up to keep it from sliding all over the place. I kept her warm by turning on the foot vents and raising the temperature on the dial. The heat hit her tank and raised up onto my ATB's cage. I also had the seat warmer on to help keep him warm (he was buckled in too).

I would recomend keeping the snakes covered so that they will not get stressed out. It also kept the dust from the heating vents out of my BP's cage. As far as other recomendations...don't take sudden turns and slow well in advance. I hope that this was helpful.
