Correct, the lineage was started by Carl with founder stock before 1970. Carls friends, the Jessups of Connecticut, produced the first striped baby (25% striped female) and then gifted all the offspring and parents back to Carl. Carl raised them and eventually tried several failed breedings of daughter back to the father. The subsequent breeding of daughter to a brother finally opened the striped floodgate, producing an amazing array of offspring.
Tony is correct in stating that the degree of adult stripe proved a poor indicator of stripe degree in offspring.
I can tell you this with a fair degree of certainty though, no temporalis breedings have ever produced more variable offspring in both color and pattern than this line did for Carl, astounding variation.
Congrats on the fine looking clutch!
Unrelated, Bob Deptula (good friend, no relation) is one of many that have combined the Calvert hypo stock with Carls striped genetics. Interestly enough, the Calvert hypos have actually produced striping themselves, as fully striped pure hypo/T-positive Calverts have been produced for numerous years now by another breeder friend.
