Late hatchling needs to EAT!!!

TEmeQUILA Jul 20, 2006 10:05 PM

I just purchased a month old GBK hatchling (this page gets more traffic) and it won't take a pinkie. I'll try one washed w/ a lizard shed tomorrow. The deal is that this hatchling is smaller than most and I'm not sure it can take a pinkie yet; the smallest pinkies I can get are a bit bigger than my snake's head. Should I try crickets or mealworms? I'd try tiny anoles, but I can't find any. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanx.

only thing it's gonna eat right now is lizards.even lizard parts-tail,legs,whatever.can you catch any lizards where you live?worse case scenario, you could buy a lizard(anole, etc.) at a local pet store and feed it's body parts if it's too big to go down whole.but if it's not too big,let it try to eat the whole thing, you may be surprised......gbk's rarely if ever go for pinks right off the bat.get some size/weight on it,then the fun begins-switching it over to pinks via scenting!lol.(gradually decreasing lizard scent over timeuntil it will take just pinkies, etc.)good luck
