Squig pic

kriswaters Jul 21, 2006 12:36 AM

Here are a few new pictures. One (the yellowish) is right out of the shower. The other shows his darkened skin....a mishap with the lamp.

He is doing great! Eats like a pig (if I let him), and has definately made his own in our house!

What a little charmer! It's nice to see pictures of what Valentino MIGHT have looked like if he hadn't had such a STUPID owner. Look at that little belly. I think he's been downing a few beers when you're not looking. LOL Great job-he's fantastic and has gorgeous color. Diane

Lookin good Kris! What is his total lenght at the moment?

Does he have the somewhat typical mean veiled chameleon attitude?

I really haven't tried to measure him because he does have that typical male veiled attitude. I am guessing about 4 to 4 1/2 inches from snout to vent. I only retrieve him from his cage after his lights have gone out. At this point, he is docile and allows me to handle him. This is usually when I wake him up for his bi-weekly shower. Any other time, I am at risk for loosing a limb!

He hisses at me when I put crixs in his cage, mist him or sometimes when I get to close. He can act pretty darn tough!

Thanks for the comments.

My little man neighbor is such a cutie!! He's getting big!!

Don't worry if he's mean now... They settle down once they get older.. I hit a mildstone with Pluto today FINALLY! He let me touch his tail without taking a stab at me AND I got to take a picture of him with his "normal" colors... He didn't even seem to mind the camera !

p.s. how do you like heat? I hate it!! I'm moving to Greenland.. or somewhere where it doesn't get over 75 degrees!!!

Thanks neighbor! He is quite calm after the "lights go out". He sat on my head all through dinner last night LOL, awaiting his shower time.

As for the heat....jeeze, this is why I moved out of Fresno, California! YUK!!!! Today, with the humidity of 85% and temps above 100...oh it was deadly. I feel as if I live in Georgia or Mississippi!!!!

Looking for some killer T-storms tonight! The clouds are really thick and the sunset was an ominous orange and red!

By the way, your cham ain't lookin' to bad either!

I live in Fresno. It was hot and humid. Had to clean some cages and by the time I was done I was soaked. And BTW you both have nice looking chams.

kriswaters Jul 22, 2006 01:56 PM

Fresno? Really? I still spend time there with family. Have you lived there long? I graduated from Fresno High....quite some time ago granted but knew a ton of people. I worked for American Ambulance for 10 years...6 of them as a Paramedic.

I can't believe how much it has grown! Especially to the north and east. The summers were too much for me. After 28 years of 100 weather for 5 months....I had to vacate! I was there in June and thought that I was going to melt! I am in Oregon now, and I really enjoy the summers here...except for days like yesterday and today.

It really is a small world! BTW, you have a beautiful cham.

I lived here all my life. 29 years. I actually live a few blocks from Fresno High. I can see why you left. 100 degrees at 10:30pm and cloudy to make it humid on top of that.

FEENIEE Jul 23, 2006 12:48 AM

Ha, try 98 degree's with 95% humidy and not a single breeze......

We are slowly melting....... Daisy can't take much more. We take turns standing in front of the open freezer

103 today! Luckily the clouds have moved out and the hot easterly is blowing. My poor window coolers are working triple time! The keep it about 20 degrees cooler inside. Whew!

Squig doesn't seem to mind, although I am misting a few extra times each day.

Stay cool.
