Question to all Picture takers????

latin1956 Jul 21, 2006 10:41 AM

I would like to ask all of you who are using digital cameras, what brand are you using? what is the Mega Pixel?. I am looking to buy another one since the one I have been using does not work very well. What are the pros and cons of the one you are using.

Thank you in advance.

I have a Nikon D70 6.1 megpix. I love it, but it has a lot of featues that I have not learned to use yet. It takes awesome pix. It is a digital SLR, so it is like the old slr 35mm, but it is digital. I had to lower the size and quality to be able to upload them to KS. It has interchangeable lenses that are compatible with my older 35mm cam, so I didn't need to get many new lenses. Nikon also has a newer D50 out that is also 6.1, and it is very similar to the D70, except the price is cheaper. I am pro Nikon, but there are people who are not. Post this question in the photography section of this forum. It also depends on what types of pictures you want to take. I mostly take nature and family pics and I am pleased with my camera. Derek

I use a Nikon coolpix 7600.It is a 7.1 megapix(I think). The good thing is I can take a pic as close as 1.3 inches away but,if you need to use the flash this close you will get a shadow from the lense in the bottom of the pic.It is also kinda slow between pics. jeff

I have couple of Digital Cameras.. but i like my 5 Mega pixel Canon the best.. The included software is VERY easy to install and use, it is very small, does not have lots of buttons you dont need, and it has a macro feature for taking nice clear close ups..

I just broke down and got a new digital, and although I have not used it yet to take pics of snakes, it takes some great pictures. I like the marco too. Its a sony cybershot w70. It has great presets for all kinds of situations, like pics on snow, with lost of blue like the sky or beach or indoor. Below are some pics I took while on vacation........

There are a lot of good digital cameras out there now. It might be easier to recommend a model if you have a cost amount settled. You could certainly buy a Nikon d2x and have a top of the line Dslr model, or you can spend a couple of hundred dollars and have everything you need - the difference is in how you want to use it, and how much you want to spend. Here are some shots from my sony dsc-h1, a digicam (not a DSLR) that costs about $300. It's nice to not haul around $2000 worth of lenses and a $3000 camera all the time. Most of these were taken before i knew how to use this camera, my shots tend to be better now.

Erik.
