Elaphe taeniura ridleyi.
I see different names used for the cave dwelling rat snake. Is it that some of these references are in err, or just a issue of updated classification?

It's updated classification.
Cave-dwelling ratsnakes were first known as Coluber taeniurus. It has been referred to as Elaphe taeniura ridleyi until 2002, at which time it was transferred to the genus Orthriophis.
The following site documents this change (although it's not in English):

You might also be interested to know that there are two forms of ridleyi--the whitish anterior form, which is far more common in the pet trade than the Cameron Highlands form, which has a yellowish anterior as an adult and does not inhabit caves.
Thanks for the good info.
Any pics of or links to the less common form so as to compare?
