A little info on locality would be a big help. ~~Greg~~

I'm gonna give it a SWAG and say it fits no North American snake that I'm aware of.

Looks like a ringneck with an incomplete ring...

I agree, it looks like a Ringneck. If I'm not mistaken, the subspecies from the Florida Keys commonly has incomplete rings around their necks.

OK, so now that I AM aware, it does look like a Keys Ringneck Snake (Diadophis punctatus acricus).

Apparently these are pretty rare, found only on Big Pine, Little Torch, and Middle Torch Keys. They are protected in Florida.

It may be a Keys Diadophis, but until Helmetgecko comes back on & lets us know where the snake was found, I'm gonna abstain. If the snake was found in say, southeast Asia instead of the American southeast, all these swags are useless.

You know - the second photo you have seems to me to be identical to what is here:

http://www.ecologyasia.com/verts/snakes-png/loria-forest-snake.htm

Did you really "just find out" what it is, or are you playing games?
