Help on sexing this 8 yr old Redfoot

amazoa Jul 21, 2006 03:59 PM

I have had this one 6 years (2 years old when I got it)it has a plastron length of 8.5inches. I'm seeing no pinching in when looking directly down at it. The tail is not that long but what throws me is the rear of the plastron. No "V" notch so obvious in most females. What do you all think? Thanks Richard

I'm going to vote male also. Notice how the bottom of the shell kind of indents. That's pretty typical of male tortoises, because it tends to make staying on a female much easier.

Plus the tail looks very male-like to me.
