There are supposed markers but not all snakes with these markers are het pieds and many proven het pieds do not have these markers. So the so called pied het markers are not 100% accurate. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what the possible het markers are LOL....I think a pattern of dark scales along the sides of the belly forming almost straight lines are the potential het markers, but I could be wrong here. I haven't really made the effort to remember the description as when I plan to buy a het pied I am going to buy one from a reputable breeder (most likely MarkusJane as he isn't that far a drive from me to pick them up, but won't be ready to do that for a year or so as it is so I am not in a rush).
Below is a link to the 'Hunters Guide' which does show samples of the pied het markers. Just keep in mind that this het marker isn't full proof and it's better to pick up a het pied from a reputiable breeder who bred a pied to a normal.

ok so then if there aren't any " markers" then why do or why are the breeders here on this site have adds that say or with in the adds they mention these markers? Thats a bit deseptive isnt it?
Buyer Beware!
Anyway, I thank all of you who have posted here in responce or those who have emailed me.
Thanks...
OK, so this subject has kinda got me thinkin...
Are there any genetic markers for any animal that is to be het for something, such as clown, ghost, spider pastel etc?
Or does it just come down to luck of the draw?
My breeding experiance with balls is limited only to normals, and then also to morphs of corn snakes, as this question may sound stupid to those with experiance I must ask.
Also are there any books or videos that might be recomended that deals with morph breeding of balls and other pythons?
Thanks again...
