Barometric Pressure?............

APLAXAR Jul 22, 2006 10:02 AM

i was curious if barometric pressure would have an affect on the hatching time, currently i am at 53 days of incubation, currently here in Burlington VT, we are awaiting a few days of thunderstorms, which means the pressure is dropping.

the eggs were layed on a stormy night also, i know pressure drops tend to make humans and other animals more likely to give birth/lay eggs . does the same hold true for eggs hatching?

i have noticed a good deal of dimpling going on over the past two days, dimpling that added moisture doesnt seem to correct, so i can only assume that it is from the final yolk getting absorbed. i guess my question is if a storm is rolling in would the pressure change promote hatching?

any info would be grealty appreciated

Adam

Funny you should ask....... if he had is way he would eat the cats, and the ferret, and my girlfriends feet for that matter. he has tried all three, yeah its a pxyie, he eats a varied diet of a bunch of diffrent bugs/worms (a dozen night crawlers in a sitting, 24-36 crickets), an occasion feeder gold fish or two, quail, pretty much everything and everything, not too many rodents though, mabey a small adult mouse every few months. i got him/her when he/she could literaly sit on a quarter.

Wow, did the pressure make your corn look like that?! lol.
I am just joking. Is that a pixie frog?

Sorry, I am totally lost with the pressure thing. But, if the dimpling can not be fixed by moisture, they will probably hatch very soon. i hope there is someone out there that can answer your question. It'd be interesting info to store away.

Well it is probably just coincidence, but we had a monster storm come through today and at day 73 I had my first baby come out.

I'd say yours were over due!!
You glad the waiting is over?

My king snake's second clutch is hatching right now. I still have a few more to go.

Definite relief. When you expect 60 days and get 73, I guess you gets some doubts!
