An odd question

SkimmerSet Jul 22, 2006 11:57 AM

Petri and Duckie get playtime in the bathtub once a week, and as usual Duckie decided to relieve herself while in the warm water. But when I picked her up and took her back to her cage, I returned to find Petri alone - fecal matter gone. It is possible that it could've fallen down the drain (although not likely since the drain was closed)... but should I be concerned that Petri just ate it? It seems a bit odd and has never happened before, so I can't figure out whether to laugh about it or be worried about him getting sick, etc. What do you think?

It was probably eaten by the other dragon. Not a cause to be concerned though, unless the pooping dragon has parasites which the eating dragon does not. Other than possible risks of spreading parasites from one dragon to another, it won't harm them. Many animals eat their own poop or that of other members of their species as a need to gain trace minerals and other nutrients not stored by the body. There is a scientific term for this but it eludes me right now.

That's pretty much what I figured, but I'm always a little paranoid about my babies.

I know Duckie is completely healthy, but it makes you step back and think... uh oh... I hope nothing's hiding in there. haha

Thanks for the quick reply though.
